He looks into your brokenness
Your heartache and your trials
He changes this or whispers that
And soon brings on the smiles.
We hear that real contrition
Is the bedrock of our gain.
But do we know He seeks
Our joy and victory past the pain?
A giving Christ
A soothing Christ
A singing One to boot
And by the Spirit of Holiness
He draws out spiritual fruit.
It’s love and joy and peace He sends
So patient, gentle, kind.
Advancing in that meekness rare
Straight from the Saviour’s mind.
17 The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
(from Psalm 34)
